Deadly Combination

Jennifer AbubakarEkua has any 26-year old woman could dream of. A successful career with brains and beauty to go with it, Jennifer has it all and she is expecting an addition to the package: a beautiful baby. She will give birth to her first child with husband Thomas Reinhold in December.

Jennifer Abubakar became a household name after she got a contract to be on the cover of a major publication. Five years ago, fate brought her together with German Thomas Reinhold in the very modern setting of an internetchatroom. She got to know how sweet, kind and intelligent her future partner is. After one weekend visit, the two felt that they could not spend another second apart. It did not take much to convince Jennifer to join Thomas in Germany.

While on maternity leave from modeling, Jennifer still kept herself busy with designing her own clothing line made for women of colour. The collection was made for expectant moms who want to glow in style, with her own influence. Her sense of fashion is evidently on how she would not let her baby bump corrupt her slim silhouette. Draped over her shoulder is a luxurious coat that subtly conceals her state. The corruption-free collection is set to be launched in spring.

RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 3 Premiere – allvoices

“Mondays are a drag” as RuPaul returns with a new set of queens to take on the challenges as they vie for the title of America’s Next Drag Superstar.

The two hour premiere of season three “RuPauls’s Drag Race” begins with a casting extravaganza and the premiere episode for season three of “RuPaul’s Drag Race”.

RuPaul begins the show with some audition tapes of girls who didn’t make the cut for season three’s top 12; whom Ru admires for their shameless promotion.

The first two queens to make the show are Manila Luzon whose boyfriend in Sahara Davenport and Carmen Carrera. Next RuPaul’s casting extravaganza takes a tour of some of the queen’s drag closets and the girls doing a tell all of their first time in drag.

The next two queens to make the show are Raja the supermodel whose day job is a make up artist. Besides working with top artists in Hollywood Raja calls American Idol’s Adam Lambert a friend. India Ferrah started out as a child at the age of 14.

Next up RuPaul showed off some of the auditions from men who wanted to be a part of her pit crew – the men who help Ru out on Drag Race.

The plus sized girls came out in force to audition for RuPaul this season and the two queens who did make the show are Mimi Imfurst and southern belle Stacy Layne Matthews.

Before introducing any more queens, RuPaul presented a package on queens and why they do drag. “A drag queen is a true artist,” said RuPaul before a video clip of the queens putting on makeup and getting dressed.

The next two queens to be a part of the show are Puerot Rican queen Yara Sofia and Atlanta’s Phoenix.

Santino and RuPaul held open auditions for season 3 of Drag Race on Hollywood Boulevard which produced an interesting collection of queens and Drag Race hopefuls. Venus D-Lite was one of the queens chosen from that audition; along with Delta Work.

Before introducing the last two season three queens, RuPaul showed a video package on lip syncing for your life. After auditioning three times for Drag Race Alexis Mateo and last, but not least, Ballroom dancer Mariah.

And the race is about to begin as the queens start their engines on the season premiere of “RuPaul’s Drag Race”…

As the queens walk into the workroom for the first time, the unthinkable happens when two queens are wearing the same outfits.

RuPaul enters and welcomes the queens – “the fiercest of the fierce”. This season the winner receives a life time supply of made up, be on the Absolut tour, and this time around the winner gets $75,000.

The pit crew brought out a big package and Shangela jumped out. RuPaul announced that Shangela would be joining the queens for season three of Drag Race.

The first challenge of the season was the girls were photographed by Mike Ruiz for a holiday card with a Christmas scene background while jumping on a giant trampoline. The winner of the Holiday Card Photo shoot was Raja.

For the big challenge the girls went shopping, in drag, at a thrift store where they had 10 minutes and $50, $75 for Raja, to purchase items for a spectacular holiday kultour outfit.

RuPaul herself kick off the runway segment of the show. Since the show is a holiday affair Santa made a visit in the form of Bruce Vilanch. Joining Ru and Santa at the judge’s table are Santino, Mike Ruiz, Michelle Visage, and special guest judge Vanessa Williams.

After all 13 queens have walked the runway and presented their holiday finest made from Christmas decorations and items purchased in a thrift store, RuPaul called for Mariah, Delta, Yara, India, Phoenix Stacy, and Alexis to step forward. She told them that they all stood out for not standing out but that they were safe. Ru added that with $75,000 on the line safe was a dirty word.

During the critiques, some of the queens made a lot of excuses which did not please RuPaul.

Mimi is safe, Manila is safe, Venus is in the bottom two, Raja is the queen who stole Christmas and the winner of the challenge for the week; she will also have immunity from elimination next week. Carmen is safe but Shangela will again face the bottom two the first week of competition again this season – it was the same spot where Shangela found herself eliminated last season.

Venus D-Lite and Shangela had to lip sync for their life to “The Right Stuff” by Vanessa Williams. During the lip sync for your life things got violent as the queens started pulling off pieces of clothing and pushing. After the song was over RuPaul said, “it made me feel uncomfortable.”

In the end RuPaul told Shangela to shante and stay; while Venus D-Lite had to sashay away and was the first person to be eliminated from the competition.

UFC Fight for the Troops 2 Primer: Mark Hominick vs George Roop – Head Kick Legend

This fight has the most immediate title implications of any fight on the card. With Josh Grispi getting upset earlier this month at UFC 125 by Dustin Poirier, Mark Hominick has been promised a title shot provided he gets by Roop. Not surprisingly, George Roop hasn’t been presented with the same scenario and reasonably so.

The lanky fighter has impressed recently. His head kick knocked the Korean Zombie straight out of Chan Sung Jung causing the entire t-shirt industry to shudder. But it’s unlikely Roop would be given a title shot after two wins preceded by a Leonard Garcia draw (albeit a dubious decision) and a unanimous decision loss to Eddie Wineland, although a win over Hominick would do quite a bit for his position in the division.

The Wineland loss is pretty telling of how this fight will go however. Wineland was able to use sound footwork and crisp punches to pick Roop apart. Hominick takes that skill set and adds in tremendous head movement. His recent decision win over Garcia he showed great defensive boxing and counters. He should be able to control the tempo of this fight with his sharp boxing and keep Roop on his heals.

Roop’s best bet is using his length, something he hasn’t been able to do well in his career. For a tall fighter he likes to stay hunched, which lowers his jawline into his opponents range. Roop just doesn’t seem like he has enough to slow down Hominick. I see Hominick taking the decision here after controlling the pace and range setting up a title fight for Jose Aldo’s return fight.

Jim Carrey was spotted with model Anchal Joseph at a Broadway show.

Rumor has it Jim Carrey is dating former “America’s Next Top Model” contestant Anchal Joseph, according to the New York Post.

49-year-old Carrey was spotted holding hands with the 24-year-old model at the Broadway show “Time Stands Still,” starring Christina Ricci and Laura Linney.

Joseph ended up in seventh place on Cycle 7 of Tyra Banks’ modeling competition show, then appeared in French Vogue and international editions of Elle magazine.

According to the Huffington Post, the New Delhi-born model was the third woman Carrey was seen cuddling with since his April 2010 breakup with actress Jenny McCarthy, whom he dated for five years.

Woman Falls Into Fountain While Texting – ThirdAge

January 20, 2011 9:26 PM

Woman Falls In Fountain - smartphone

Woman Falls Into Fountain: Cathy Cruz Marrero was texting on her phone while walking in the Berkshire Mall in Reading, Pennsylvania when she suddenly collapsed headfirst into a water fountain.

The scene was caught by the mall’s surveillance video system and then posted on YouTube, where it has been viewed nearly 2 million times.

While she wasn’t hurt physically, Cruz Marrero, who works in the mall, has hired an attorney.

What hurts, she says, is “the humiliation (from the video having been put online). The humiliation. Ask my husband – I cried for days. … You don’t know how many people are laughing at me.”

Cruz adds that texting while walking is “dangerous. … I could have been walking into a bus, a car, a ditch, anything. Texting and walking, take it from me, is dangerous. It really is.”
